Remove/install lamp unit - AR82.10-P-4730TA

	Removing
1	Buffer the basic data for the left xenon light control unit or the right xenon light control unit in STAR DIAGNOSIS	As of 1.6.06 with code (614) Bi-xenon headlamp unit or code (615) Bi-xenon headlamp unit or code (616) Bi-xenon headlamp unit with integrated asymmetric curve illumination or code (618) Bi-xenon headlamp or code (621) Intelligent Light System (left-hand traffic) or code (622) Intelligent Light System (right-hand traffic) When replacing the left front lamp unit (E1) or the right front lamp unit (E2). Installation:  Copy buffered basic data onto new left xenon light control unit or right xenon light control unit.
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button from electronic ignition lock control unit	KEYLESS-GO start/stop button only on vehicles with code (889) Keyless-Go.
3	Open engine hood (12)	See Operator's Manual
4	Remove front section at fender liner of front fender (10)		AR88.10-P-1310T
5	Loosen screw/bolt (2), slide terminal strip (3) toward front and remove
6	Disconnect front PTS separation point (X26/27)	On vehicles with code (220a) Parktronic system (PTS)
7	Remove bolts (1)
8	Unscrew bolt (4)
9	Remove bolts (5)
10	Pull out front bumper (6) toward front
11	Mask off front bumper (6) and front fender (10) in transition area to left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2) using suitable adhesive tape	Prevents paint damage on front bumper (6) and front fender (10) when removing left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2).
12	Unscrew bolt (7)	For vehicles with code (600a) Headlamp cleaning system
13	Remove bolts (8)
14	Disconnect electrical connectors on rear of left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2)
15	Pull front bumper (6) forward at stay (11) and remove left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2) toward front
	Install
16	Pull front bumper (6) forward at stay (11) and insert left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2)
17	Connect electrical connectors on rear of left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2)
18	Screw in bolts (8)
19	Screw in bolt (7)	For vehicles with code (600a) Headlamp cleaning system
20	Remove adhesive tape at front bumper (6) and at front fender (10)
21	Insert front bumper (6) into bracket (9) from side	Ensure proper seating of front bumper (6) at bracket (9).
22	Screw in bolts (5)
23	Screw in bolts (1)
24	Connect front PTS separation point (X26/27)	On vehicles with code (220a) Parktronic system (PTS)
25	Install terminal strip (3) and tighten screw/bolt (2)
26	Screw in bolt (4)	Screw in screw/bolt (4) only far enough that stay (11) can still be moved.
27	Adjust transition (arrow A) between stay (11) and engine hood (12) with adjusting nut (13)	Stay (11) and closed engine hood (12) must have the same height at the transition.
28	Align stay (11) between headlamps of left front lamp unit (E1) or headlamps of right front lamp unit (E2) and tighten screw/bolt (4)	Joints (arrows) between headlamps of left front lamp unit (E1) or headlamps of right front lamp unit (E2) and stay (11) must be of equal width.
29	Install front section at fender liner of front fender (10)		AR88.10-P-1310T
30	Close engine hood (12)	See Operator's Manual
31	Check setting of left front lamp unit (E1), right front lamp unit (E2), left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2), correct if necessary
	Check and correct the adjustment of the headlamps		AP82.10-P-8260T
