Remove/install compressor - AR32.22-P-2001TX

MODEL 219.3 with CODE (489) Aromatic (semi-active air suspension)

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1.1 Remove the front section of the lower engine compartment paneling Vehicles with gasoline engines AR61.20-P-1105TX
1.2 Remove front section of bottom section of soundproofing Vehicles with diesel engines AR94.30-P-5300TX
2 Detach front section of fender liner in left front fender; to do so, remove expansion rivet (7)    
3 Disconnect pressure line connection (1) from AIRmatic compressor unit (A9/1) IMPORTANT Plug the pressure line for the duration of the repair operations.

TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA32.22-P-1004-03A 
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Before assembly, damaged pressure line connections or damaged pressure lines must be repaired. AR32.22-P-2001-02TX
4 Detach intake hose (2) from air filter (3) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT If the air filter is replaced, the arrow on the air filter must be pointing up.  
5 Unscrew nuts (4) and remove AIRmatic compressor unit (A9/1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA32.22-P-1003-03A 
6 Disconnect electrical connector (5) from AIRmatic pressure reduction valve (A9/1y1)    
7 Disconnect electrical connector (6)    
8 Remove AIRmatic compressor unit (A9/1)    
9 Fit new AIRmatic relay (K67) When replacing the compressor unit
IMPORTANT Always exchange the AIRmatic relay when replacing the compressor unit as the switching contact may have been damaged previously.
 
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE AIRmatic relay, component description   GF32.31-P-5114TX
10 Install in the reverse order    
11 Check AIRmatic for leaks.   AR32.22-P-8100TX 
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the running engine Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

12 Do an engine test run and check the AIRmatic for proper operation
