	Preparatory tasks
1	Switch on COMAND controller unit and remove all CDs or DVDs
2	Enable data storage media slot	With CODE 512 (COMAND APS incl. DVD changer)

3	Insert master-DVD 1	The map data version installed in the COMAND controller unit and available on the master DVD 1 is displayed.
4	Note displayed map data versions on service sheet	With map data release that is not up to date: ↓ Check whether a map data update is available to the customer free of charge. Initial registration was max. 3 years ago. Only for certain markets (see appropriate Service Information bulletin). If so: ↓ Subject to a separate repair order, update the map data free of charge (for cost settlement, see appropriate Service Information bulletin). * Map update ↓

5	Remove master DVD 1	Master DVD 1 must remain in the workshop and may not be handed out to the customer.
6	Insert previously removed CDs or DVDs and switch off COMAND controller unit
