Remove/install navigation processor - AR82.85-P-7373TX

MODEL 219.3 up to 2.3.08 except CODE (809) Model year 2009 with CODE (527) COMAND APS (with navigation) with CODE (530) COMAND APS USA (with navigation system)

5.7.06 "Disconnect/connect battery ground line" removed    
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Buffer basic data of navigation processor (N41/1) in STAR DIAGNOSIS When installing new navigation processor (N41/1).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transfer basic data from STAR DIAGNOSIS to new navigation processor (N41/1).
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04TX
2 Open the cover (1)    
3 Insert removal tools (2) into navigation processor (N41/1) IMPORTANT Pay attention to "TOP" marking on removal tools (2).  
4 Pull navigation processor (N41/1) on removal tool (2) out toward the front until the electrical connectors (4) and the electrical connector with fiber optic cable (3) on the rear of the navigation processor (N41/1) are accessible INSTALLATION NOTES Make sure that, when sliding in the navigation processor (N41/1), the electrical connector with fiber optic cable (3) and the electrical lines (4) are not pinched and thereby damaged.  
5 Disconnect electrical connectors (4) and electrical connector with fiber optic cable (3) on rear of navigation processor (N41/1)    
NOTES Notes on avoiding damage to fiber optic cables during repair work With Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) AH82.60-P-0001-05TX
6 Remove navigation processor (N41/1) from luggage compartment    
7 Push back retaining springs (5) at left and right on navigation processor (N41/1) and pull out the removal tools (2)    
8 Install in the reverse order
