	Checking
	Risk of death  caused by limbs being caught  or crushed  by rotating parts when performing tests on the brake test stand	Never leave the vehicle unattended on the rollers except in an emergency. 2.1	Place electric selection switch in Engine compartment in position "TEST"	Model 124 with 4MATIC
2.2	Switch on dynamometer test via steering wheel buttons	Model 197 In order to avoid measurement errors due to an active brake intervention of the Electronic Stability Program (Electronic-Stability-Program) (ESP). Do not  switch off the ESP using the ESP Sport Off button on the center console.

3	Move vehicle with front axle into roller brake test stand	Model 164, 251: Brake test on each axle must not last longer than ≈ 10 seconds, otherwise the drive train or brake system could be damaged. 4	Determine brake values, control force and actuating travel on brake pedal for front axle and document	Press brake pedal uniformly. The maximum value prior to the wheels locking up is to be documented. The control force and actuating travel on the brake pedal are to be documented at maximum value. In the event of brake-fluid fluctuations or a pulsating brake pedal, determine the reason and rectify subject to separate repair order.
5	Move vehicle with rear axle into roller brake test stand	Model 164, 251: Brake test on each axle must not last longer than ≈ 10 seconds, otherwise the drive train or brake system could be damaged. In the transmission roller dynamometer with the engine running, shift to the "N" or "neutral" position.
6	Determine brake values, control force and actuating travel on brake pedal for rear axle and document	Press brake pedal uniformly. The maximum value prior to the wheels locking up is to be documented. The control force and actuating travel on the brake pedal are to be documented at maximum value. 7.1	Determine brake values, control force and actuating travel on parking brake for rear axle and document	Vehicles with manual parking brake Operate parking brake uniformly. The maximum value prior to the wheels locking up is to be documented. The control force and actuating travel on the parking brake are to be documented at maximum value.

		Bed in parking brake according to instructions. If fluctuations in brake value or a pulsating parking brake cannot be eliminated by bedding in the brakes, determine the cause and rectify (subject to separate repair order).	AP42.20-P-4290-01BA
7.2	Determine brake values for electric parking brake and document	Vehicles with electric parking brake Before operating the electric parking brake, the rear-axle wheels must be driven for at least 10 s by the roller brake test stand. In order to prevent damage, thereupon the brake shoes make contact in a slow manner. In order to prevent damage, press the electric parking brake switch once briefly - do not hold down. The maximum value prior to the wheels locking up is to be documented.
8	Release parking brake and drive vehicle out of roller brake test stand
9.1	Set electric selection switch in engine compartment to "FUNCTION" position	Model 124 with 4MATIC
9.2	Switch off dynamometer test via steering wheel buttons	Model 197
	Perform adjustments to the control system		AR54.30-P-1000-02QQ
10	Evaluate documented brake values	If the specified minimum requirements and tolerance limits for the brake system scopes to be tested are not complied with, this must be rejected and rectified subject to separate repair order, after a conducted diagnosis and the corresponding findings.
