Notes on installing brake pad wear sensor contact sensors - AH42.10-P-0003-01A

The following variants exist on the front axle:

One contact sensor, two contact sensors or four contact sensors.

The following variants exist at the rear axle:

No contact sensor, one contact sensor, two contact sensors or four contact sensors.

Vehicles with ETS, ESP or ASR have contact sensors for the brake lining wear indicator.

When changing the brake pads as many contact sensors should be installed in the same position as were present.

If only one contact sensor is installed on a brake caliper, then this is to be fitted again to the same brake pad and in the same position.

IMPORTANT As a result of moisture, unconnected contact sensors cause the brake pad wear warning lamp to illuminate.

IMPORTANT The contact sensor line must be routed as shown in the picture. Only transparent (temperature-resistant) contact sensors must be installed at the rear axle.

For reasons of replacement parts simplification, the brake linings must be installed so that the contact sensors can be installed in the corresponding installation position.

The corresponding installation of the contact sensors can be obtained from the tables below.
