Remove/install remote trunk closing control unit - AR88.50-P-5300SX

MODEL 216.3, 221.0 /1 with CODE (881) Remote trunk closing (RTC [HDFS])

18.3.09 Checking HDS control module for current flashware Step 8
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, liftgates or sliding roof Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts. see AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   see AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Remove spare tire well paneling On model 216 see AR68.30-P-4600SX
2 Loosen right side paneling in trunk (3) and pivot to side until TLC control unit (N121) is accessible Vehicles without code (Z07) Top protection see AR68.30-P-4600SX
Vehicles with code (Z07) Top protection AR68.30-P-4600SXS
3 Separate electrical connectors (4) IMPORTANT As of YoM 2008/1, disconnect all 4 connectors  
4 Unclip catch hook (5) and remove TLC control unit (N121) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ensure that guides (6) are seated correctly in bracket.  
5 Remove cover on fuse and relay module from rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module Only when replacing TLC control unit (N121) on model 221 up to vehicle identification end number 026743.  
6 Change fuse assignment for TLC control unit (N121) on rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module Only when replacing TLC control unit (N121) on model 221 up to vehicle identification end number 026743.
IMPORTANT Leave ground line on starter battery and on-board electrical system battery connected.

7 Install in the reverse order    
8 Check HDS control unit (N121) for current flashware Only when replacing TLC control unit (N121).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory see AD00.00-P-2000-04A
9 Normalize remote trunk closing Only when replacing TLC control unit (N121).
IMPORTANT Open trunk lid by actuating trunk lid handle. The trunk lid then opens automatically. Wait until TLC hydraulic pump switches off, then close trunk lid by actuating TLC button.
