Wiper start suppression function
The wiper start suppression is intended to prevent the driver or front passenger from being sprayed with water from the windshield when getting in or out as the result of an initiated wipe operation.
Wipe operation is suppressed if
- the combination switch is in position "1" or "2" and
- the driver or front passenger door is open and
- the speed is less than 3 km/h and
- the wiper motors are in the basic position
Opening the driver or passenger-side door does not interrupt wiper operation that is currently in progress. The wipers move to the basic position.
Wiper motor actuation takes place after actuation has been suppressed if
- the combination switch is turned from position "1" or "2" to another position or
- the driver and front passenger doors are closed or
- the speed is faster than 3 km/h or
- the gear selector switch is set to position "D" or "R".
Wiping stop function
Opening the engine hood or switching off circuit 15R immediately interrupts active wipe operation.
The wipe operation is not continued until the engine hood is closed or after switching on circuit 15R.
