Function requirements

Mobile telephone system, general

The mobile telephone system consists of the following subfunctions, which are described in separate documents:

Address book

The address book contains the address entries stored in the COMAND controller unit (A40/3). The user can manage all the contact data in the address book (view, edit, add, delete and create). The data from the telephone book of the mobile phone can also be uploaded into the address book of the COMAND controller unit. The data from the mobile phone's telephone book are then permanently available, even if the mobile phone is no longer inserted in UPCI [UHI] cell phone holder.

Address entries can only be removed by deleting individual entries or by deleting the entire address book.

The Bluetooth interface of the mobile phone and the Bluetooth antenna (A2/91) can be used to transmit data from other external devices (e.g. PDA, laptop, etc.) into the address book. These data are then permanently available as address entries.

As of 1.6.09: The call lists are automatically loaded to the temporary memory via the Phonebook Access Profile (PBAP) transfer protocol. The address book is automatically copied to the COMAND controller unit in the background and is stored for this mobile phone. This address book can only be called up if it matches the assigned mobile phone. When the mobile phone is reconnected, the corresponding address book is displayed. Synchronization with the mobile phone takes place again in the background and the address book is updated.

The address-relevant applications for telephony can be started directly via the address book entries and provided with the data stored. The address book is activated via the telephony ("Tel") basic function and then via the "Address book" menu item in the function bar.

Address entries can contain the following:
