Task
The emergency tensioning retractor unit takes up the seat belt slack in the event of a frontal impact or rear-end collision and prevents the film reel effect of the seat belt.
The close-fitting seat belt means that vehicle occupants are subjected to the deceleration forces acting on the body at an earlier stage. Triggering is conducted by the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10) igniting the emergency tensioning retractor squibs.
