Remove/install electronic stability program (ESP) control unit - AR42.45-P-0820CW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1 Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key or KEYLESS-GO start/stop button from electronic ignition lock control unit IMPORTANT KEYLESS-GO start/stop button only on vehicles with code (889) Keyless-Go.  
CLEAN Clean     
2 Clean area surrounding electrical connector (1) and Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) NOTES Before opening the brake system the area around the separation point should be cleaned thoroughly. Even the smallest particles of dirt, introduced into the hydraulic components, can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of the brake system. Only use clean, lint free rags and cleaner free of mineral oil. Do not use any compressed-air for cleaning when the brake system is open. Cleaner from package *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
3 Disconnect electrical connector (1) from Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) NOTES It is essential to precisely follow the work instructions for disconnecting the electrical connector (1). The locking mechanism can otherwise be damaged. NOTES Do not touch, deform or damage the contacts of the electrical connector (1) and of the jack on the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4). Do not allow foreign objects, dirt or fluids to enter the jack or electrical connector (1). The Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) can otherwise be damaged or malfunction. 4 Remove the left engine intake air duct Model 204 with engine 156  
5 Detach heat shield from traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) Model 204 with engine 156  
6 Remove bolts (2) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace bolts (2).
IMPORTANT Use 70 mm long Torx-bit T20
TORQUE SPECIFICATION
*BA42.45-P-1002-01M 
7 Detach Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) from traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) and remove NOTES Do not touch the contact surfaces and silicon seal of the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) with your hands or with tools. The Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) will otherwise be damaged.  
8 Remove O-rings (3) of the valve dome (4) by hand NOTES Do not use tools to remove the O-rings (3). The traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3) will otherwise be damaged.  
CLEAN Clean     
9 Clean sealing surface on traction system hydraulic unit (A7/3)   *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
10 Install in the reverse order    
11 Connect Star Diagnosis and perform calibration of Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) When installing a new Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4). AD00.00-P-2000-04A
