Dimensions:
The following operation steps are shown on model 204.0.
- Scribe separation line on A-pillar outer paneling (1) (area A).
- Cut separation line on outer A-pillar paneling (1) (area L).
Transfer separation line from new part (area L).
- Cut outer A-pillar paneling (1) at separation points (areas A and L).
Do not damage side longitudinal member and A-pillar reinforcement (2) below.
- Expose spot welds on A-pillar outer paneling (1) (areas B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J and K).
- Cut out spot welds on outer A-pillar paneling (1) (areas B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J and K).
Cut out through two panel thicknesses (areas B, E, G and J).
- Heat outer A-pillar paneling (1) in crosshatched area.
crosshatched area is bonded.
- Remove damaged A-pillar outer paneling (1).
Dimensions:
- Scribe separation lines on A-pillar reinforcement (2) (areas M and N).
- Cut A-pillar reinforcement (2) at separation points (areas M, N and O).
Do not damage inner A-pillar and water drain hose below (areas M and N).
- Expose spot welds on A-pillar reinforcement (2) (areas P, Q, R, S, S1 , T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z).
- Cut out spot welds (areas P, Q, R, S, S 1 T, U, V, W, X, Y and, Z).
Cut through two panel thicknesses (areas S, S 1 , V and X).
- Remove damaged A-pillar reinforcement (2).
- Sand connection surfaces down to bare metal in the crosshatched areas.
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Grind crosshatched areas around holes down to bare metal.
- Remove drill shavings.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
