  11. Apply 2-component adhesive material in crosshatched areas.

IMPORTANT Refer to manufacturer specifications for adhesive curing and application times.

  12. Install side longitudinal member (3), fit and fix in place.

NOTES In order to ensure the required minimum strength for the weld, position new resistance spot welds exactly in the position as the resistance spot weld made at the factory, because this area was glued previously (area F).

  13. Side longitudinal member (3) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas E and F).
  14. Side longitudinal member (3) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (areas G and H).

IMPORTANT Grind inert gas welds down flat on contact surface and coat with zinc dust paint.

  15. Apply 2-component adhesive material in crosshatched areas.

IMPORTANT Refer to manufacturer specifications for adhesive curing and application times.

  16. Install B-pillar, fix and fix in place with SPECIAL TOOL welding device.

    IMPORTANT Observe setup plans.

IMPORTANT Use spacer panel of check and welding device on B-pillar (2).

    See setup plans.

  17. Rivet B-pillar (2) with Ø 6.5 x12.5 steel/steel blind rivet (areas I and L).
  18. Rivet B-pillar (2) with Polygrip countersunk head rivet, Ø 6.4 x14 (areas J and K).
  19. SPECIAL TOOL Remove welding device.
  20. Install outer B-pillar (1) and side longitudinal member sections (4.1 and 4.2), fit and fix in place with SPECIAL TOOL welding device.

    IMPORTANT Observe setup plans.

IMPORTANT When installing outer B-pillar (1) without side longitudinal member (3), sections of outer side longitudinal member (4.1 and 4.2) are not required.

  21. Drill rivet holes on outer B-pillar (1) and sections of outer side longitudinal member (4.1 and 4.2) with BTR Usibor drill bit, Ø 6.7 mm (areas M, N and O).
