	Remove/install
	Risk of explosion caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries	No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

1	Switch off all electrical consumers, switch off ignition and remove transmitter key from EIS [EZS] control unit	All the electrical consumers must be switched off, otherwise they may be damaged when unclipping and clipping on the ground line (5).
2	Open luggage compartment floor cover (1)	On model 204.0
3	Unclip expansion clip (3) and remove additional battery cover (2)	On model 204.0

4	Remove bolt (4) and detach ground line (5) from additional battery for ECO start/stop function (G1/13)		*BA54.10-P-1004-01F
5	Remove cover (6) of positive line (7)
6	Using diode test lamp, check on-board electrical system for voltage between positive line (7) of ECO start/stop function additional battery (G1/13) and a suitable ground point	If the diode test lamp lights up, the on-board electrical system is still active because of a defect in the electrical system. In this case the ground line of the battery (on-board electrical system battery) should be disconnected. See: ↓
6		Disconnect/connect battery ground line Cover positive line (7), there is a risk of short circuit! After this the electrical system is to be repaired upon completion of the work carried out.	AR54.10-P-0003CW
7	Unscrew bolt (8) and detach positive line (7)		*BA54.10-P-1004-01F
8	Unscrew nut (10) of bracket (11)
9	Swivel bracket (11) upwards
10	Remove additional battery for ECO start/stop function (G1/13) from battery holder
11	Install in the reverse order
