Remove/install and secure rear axle shaft twelve-point collar nut - AR35.30-P-0115-01TX

Detaching 

  1. 1.1 Apply parking brake

    IMPORTANT For model 204, 207, 212, 218, 219

  2. 1.2 Operate electric parking brake (EFB)

    IMPORTANT In case of model 172

  3. 2 Unscrew twelve-point collar nut (12).

    IMPORTANT The twelve-point collar nut (12) should be replaced each  time it is unscrewed.

    If a self-locking twelve-point collar nut (12) was installed, the thread of the rear axle shaft must be cleaned. Use a suitable brush to remove residues of the thread locking compound (arrow, right illustration).

    Mount on and secure 

    IMPORTANT Note twelve-point collar nut (12) variant. The non self-locking variant is replaced by the self-locking variant.

  4. 3 Tighten twelve-point collar nut (12).

    IMPORTANT Observe specified tightening torque.

  5. 4 Secure twelve-point collar nut (12) with caulker so that no gap remains between the groove and locking collar of the twelve-point collar nut.

    IMPORTANT Double-lock twelve-point collar nut (12) (arrows, left illustration), using non self-locking  variant. Lock twelve-point collar nut (12) one time only, with self-locking  variant.

  6. 5 Release parking brake or electronic parking brake.
