ESP/BAS control unit, task - GF42.45-P-4501-02SK

The ESP and BAS control unit (N47-5) carries out all the calculations for implementing the control functions of the following control systems:

• Electronic stability control (ESP)
• Antilock brake system (ABS)
• Brake Assist (BAS)
• Detecting and processing electrical signals and Controller Area Network (data bus/CAN Bus) (CAN) messages.
• Output of electrical signals and CAN messages.
• Control of system for tire pressure loss warning (RDW), with code (477) tire pressure loss warning.

Detection and processing of electrical signals 

The ESP and BAS control unit (N47-5) detects electrical signals of system components, processes these and evaluates them. For the data evaluated a distinction is made between. Data for describing the associated physical quantity and if necessary calculation of further physical quantities which are required for calculations of control functions and information on the description of the control state of a switch or sensor.
