Electronic Stability Program (Electronic-Stability-Program) (ESP) closed-loop operation 

If oversteer or understeer is detected, a calculated brake intervention at the front or rear axle is carried out by the hydraulic unit of the ESP and BAS control unit (N47-5). This brake intervention selectively counteracts undesirable driving characteristics.

By means of a signal via the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C) to the motor electronics control unit (N3/10) a drive torque reduction to suit the requirements is achieved by decreasing the engine torque.
