Removing and installing front axle half - AR33.10-P-0200V

	Remove/install
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	-
1	Raise vehicle with lifting platform		AR00.60-P-1000V
2	Remove front wheel
	Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary		AP40.10-P-4050V
3	Remove rear section of fender liner in front fender		AR88.10-P-1300V
4	Disconnect connector of front axle electrical distributor		AR33.10-P-0100-06V
	Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.	Pour brake fluid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.	-
5	Detach brake hose from brake line		AR42.10-P-0013V
6	Detach stabilizer bar link rod (78k) from stabilizer bar (78)	Use Allen wrench to apply counterpressure to the ball joint as required.

7	Detach tie rod (10a) from steering knuckle		AR46.40-P-0200-01V

8	Remove radius rod (18) from front axle carrier.	Do not twist bolt (18a). Counterhold bolt (18a) when slackening the nut. Otherwise the fixing lugs for the caster adjustment in the rubber mount will be sheared off when the repair kit is fitted.

9.1	Loosen and unhook oil cooler	Model 171.473	AR18.30-P-1000VT
10	Detach cross strut (17) from the front axle carrier	Do not twist bolt (17a). Always counter the bolt (17a) when slackening the nut. When the repair kit is fitted, otherwise the fixing lugs for camber adjustment in the rubber mount will be sheared off.

11	Secure front-axle half to prevent it from falling down	Transmission jack	*WE58.40-Z-1030-11A
		Transmission plate	*WE58.40-Z-1018-11A
12	Open engine hood		AR88.40-P-1000V
13	Unscrew nuts (11b) of suspension strut at suspension strut tower and lower the front axle half		*BA32.25-P-1001-01B
	Check
14	Check cross strut (17) and torque strut (18) for damage or deformation	Replace if necessary.
15	Check spring strut for leaks and damage	Replace if necessary.
16	Check steering knuckle for damage or deformation	Replace if necessary.
17	Install in the reverse order
18	Bleed brake system		AR42.10-P-0010V
19	Perform chassis alignment		AR40.20-P-0200V
