"Disconnect/connect battery ground line" removed

	Remove/install
1	Adjust the driver seat backwards into its final position	See Operator's Manual
2	Adjust the steering column backwards and downwards into its final position	See Operator's Manual
3.1	Transfer the basic data from the instrument cluster (A1) to STAR DIAGNOSIS	When replacing the instrument cluster (A1). Installation: Transfer temporarily stored basic data into the new instrument cluster (A1). On vehicles with retrofitted iPod and without telephone the menu item "telephone" in the menu "Instrument cluster" must be set from "NOT PRESENT" to "PRESENT" using STAR DIAGNOSIS. This enables the iPod to be operated via the multifunction steering wheel.
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A

4	Unclip the surrounds (1) on the left and right of the instrument panel (2)
5	Use a suitable screwdriver to unlock the instrument cluster (A1) through the openings (arrows) in the instrument panel (2)	Installation: When installing, the instrument cluster (A1) must latch audibly in the locking device.
6	Remove the instrument cluster (A1) from the instrument panel (2) until the electrical connector (3) is accessible
7	Unlock electrical connector (3), separate and guide the instrument cluster (A1) out to the side between the steering wheel and instrument panel (2)
8	Install in the reverse order
