Disassemble, assemble front wheel hub - AR33.20-P-0320V

MODIFICATION NOTES

8.6.05 Filling capacity, hub (total filling capacity) Model 171 *BF33.20-P-1001-01A 
DISASSEMBLING Disassemble    
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. -
1 Raise vehicle with lifting platform   AR00.60-P-1000V
2 Remove front wheels    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary   AP40.10-P-4050V
3 Remove front wheel hub   AR33.20-P-0310V 
4 Hammer out inner tapered roller bearing (9l) and radial sealing ring (9a) using SPECIAL TOOL drift (05a) IMPORTANT The RPM sensor exciter ring is integrated in the radial sealing ring (9a). Therefore this should always be replaced.

5 Press out tapered roller bearing outer race (9c) of outer tapered roller bearing using workshop press and SPECIAL TOOL drift (05a)

6 Press out tapered roller bearing outer race (9b) of inner tapered roller bearing using SPECIAL TOOL insertion tool, part 10 (06d) and a suitable drift

7 Clean tapered roller bearing and front wheel hub    
INSPECT Check     
8 Inspect tapered roller bearing and bearing races   AR33.20-P-0310-02V 
9 Check front wheel hub IMPORTANT Check tapped holes for damage  
ASSEMBLING Assemble     
10 Pull tapered roller bearing outer race (9b) of inner tapered roller bearing and tapered roller bearing outer race (9c) of outer tapered roller bearing into the front wheel hub using SPECIAL TOOL insertion tool, part 02 (06b) and SPECIAL TOOL insertion tool, part 03 (06c)

11 Insert inner tapered roller bearing (9l) into front wheel hub IMPORTANT Grease inner tapered roller bearing (9l) before inserting.  
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS   High temperature antifriction bearing grease (NLGI grade 2) BB00.40-P-0265-01A
12 Pull in radial sealing ring (9a) IMPORTANT The RPM sensor exciter ring is integrated in the radial sealing ring (9a) and must not be processes using metal tools. Therefore when pulling in the side lined with rubber of the SPECIAL TOOL insertion tool, part 01 (06a) should be used.
IMPORTANT Pull in radial sealing ring (9a) as far as the stop in the front wheel hub using SPECIAL TOOL insertion tool, part 01 (06a) andSPECIAL TOOL insertion tool, part 02 (06b).
IMPORTANT Coat the contact surface of the radial sealing ring (9a), as well as the space between the lip and dust lip with grease and replenish.

13 Fill wheel hub with grease FLUID SPECIFICATION *BF33.20-P-1001-01A
