REPAIR MATERIALS

  1. Expose MIG brazed seam on rear fender (1) (area C).
  2. Grind off MIG brazed seam on rear fender (1) (area C).
  3. Grind off bead on wheelhouse of rear fender (1) (area B1 ).

    IMPORTANT Do not damage wheelhouse below.

  4. Remove remaining piece from crimped bead on rear fender (1).
  5. Expose spot welds on rear fender (1) (areas A and B).
  6. Cut out spot welds on rear fender (1) with SPECIAL TOOL spot weld milling cutter or COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS spherical milling cutter (areas A and B).

  7. Expose spot welds on rear fender (1) (areas D, E, F, F1 , G, H and I).
  8. Cut out spot welds on rear fender (1) with SPECIAL TOOL spot weld milling cutter or COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS spherical milling cutter (areas D, F, F1 1, G, H and I).
  9. Drill dia. 6.5 mm holes in rear fender (1) (area E).
  10. Expose spot welds on rear fender (1) (area K).
  11. Cut out spots welds on rear fender (1) with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS spot weld milling cutter or COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS spherical milling cutter (areas F and K).
  12. Mark separation points on rear fender (1) (area J).
  13. Cut separation point on rear fender (1) with body saw (area J).

    IMPORTANT Do not damage outer panel rear center section below.

  14. Heat rear fender (1) in cross-hatched area with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS hot air gun.
  15. Remove rear fender (1)

  16. Cut out spot welds on rear fender section (2) with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS spherical milling cutter (area L).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds on rear fender section (2) from inside.

  17. Cut out spot welds on rear fender section (2) SPECIAL TOOL with spherical milling cutter (area M).

    IMPORTANT Cut spot weld through two sheet metal thicknesses.

  18. Remove rear fender section (2).

  19. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

  20. Remove grinding and drilling chips using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
  21. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
  22. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.

  23. Remove grinding and drilling chips using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
  24. Coat insides of spot weld flanges and rivet connections with zinc dust paint.
