The "CHECK ENGINE" indicator lamp is located in the instrument cluster.
Task
To indicate faults in the fuel injection system
Function
The indicator lamp is actuated by the instrument cluster via a CAN message from the engine control unit. To check the function it lights up with ignition on ON and as of an engine speed of approx. 500 rpm for approx. 1 s. If there is no fault, the indicator lamp goes out
