Remove/install hydraulic line of power steering with engine 272 pressure line - AR46.25-P-3015VF

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid. Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. -
NOTES Before opening the hydraulic system of the power steering, thoroughly clean the area surrounding the separation point. Even minute particles of dirt, introduced into the hydraulic components, can result in malfunctions or damage to the power steering.    
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, tailgates or sliding roof. Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts. -
1 Open engine hood and raise to vertical position   AR88.40-P-1000V
2 Remove left intake air duct (1)    
3 Suction off oil out of power steering expansion reservoir (2) SPECIAL TOOL Hand pump Figure
Detach return line (3) from power steering expansion reservoir (2) 4 IMPORTANT Collect oil which runs out with rags and seal line connections  
    SPECIAL TOOL stop plugs.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1004-01F 
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of stop plugs Figure
5 Detach pressure line (4) of power steering from power steering pump by unscrewing the union nut (5) IMPORTANT Collect oil which runs out with rags and seal line connections  
    SPECIAL TOOL stop plugs.  
    IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace sealing ring.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.30-P-1002-01F 
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of stop plugs Figure
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. -
6 Raise vehicle   AR00.60-P-1000V
7 Detach center section of lower engine compartment paneling IMPORTANTInstallation:  Only install engine compartment paneling after the leak test. AR61.20-P-1105V
8 Detach pressure line (4) of power steering from oil pan by unscrewing bolt (6) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA01.45-P-1004-01M 
9 Remove screw (7) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, hydraulic line bracket to rack-and-pinion steering -
10 Unscrew bolt (8) and remove pressure line (4) of power steering from rack-and-pinion steering IMPORTANT Collect oil which runs out with rags and seal line connections  
    SPECIAL TOOL stop plugs.  
    IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace sealing ring.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.20-P-1001-01F

11 Take out pressure line (4) of power steering downwards    
12 Install in the reverse order    
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

13 Fill power steering pump and bleed   AR46.30-P-0010V 
14 Check oil level in power steering expansion reservoir (2), correct if necessary    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Power steering - checking and correcting oil level   AP46.00-P-4611V 
15 Check function of power steering and for leaks
