Remove/install Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder - AR77.37-P-3490V

	Remove/Install
	Risk of injury  to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid.	Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.	-
1	Remove cover on Vario roof crossmember (10)	Remove only to the extent that soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) is accessible.	AR77.30-P-3976V
2	Remove tie strap (arrow) and fold down insulation mat (2)	Installation:  Replace tie strap (arrow). Before installing insulation mat (2): ↓
		Check oil level in soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5), correct if required	AR77.37-P-3501V
3	Remove circlip from front bolt (3)	Secure circlip on front bolt (3) against falling down with flexible rod magnet.
4	Move rear shelf back and forth lightly and remove front bolt (3)	Moving the rear shelf relieves the pressure on the Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1) so that its easier to remove the front bolt (3). Secure front bolt (3) from falling down. Installation:  Position front bolt (3) at installation position with aid of flexible rod magnet.
5	Remove securing clamp (4)	Secure securing clamp (4) from falling down.
6	Remove rear bolt (5)	Secure rear bolt (5) from falling down.
7	Mark installation position of hydraulic lines (6)	Observe identification on hydraulic lines (6): Lines no. 20 and 22 should be connected to the right Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1), lines no. 31 and 33 to the left Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1). Mark hydraulic lines (6) at points at which they are fastened with tie straps.
		Installation:  When replacing the Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1) transfer the markings to the hydraulic lines (6) for the new Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1).

8	Expose hydraulic lines (6)	Installation:  Install new tie straps.

9	Unclip relay strip (7) from bracket (8)
10	Unscrew bolts (9) and remove hydraulic unit for soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) from Vario roof crossmember (10) until connections for hydraulic lines (6) are accessible		*BA77.37-P-1007-01A
11	Separate hydraulic lines (6) from soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5)	Hold rag under soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) and plug hydraulic lines (6) and connections on soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5), to prevent soiling vehicle passenger compartment.	AR77.37-P-1000-04V

		Installation:  Observe markings on hydraulic lines (6).
12	Remove Vario roof actuation hydraulic cylinder (1) toward rear out Vario roof main bearing through trunk together with hydraulic lines (6)	Do not kink hydraulic lines (6).
13	Install in the reverse order
