| 3.1 | Move selector lever position "D" | Vehicles with transmission 722 | |
| 3.2 | Shift transmission to neutral | Vehicles with transmission 716 | |
| 4 | Switch off ignition | ||
| 5 | Unclip left and right paneling (2) from retaining clips (3) with mounting wedge and remove | Figure | |
| 6 | Unscrew bolts (4) from center console on left and right side | ||
| 7 | Open beverage holder (5) and unclip beverage holder cover (7) with screwdriver (arrows). | ||
| 8 | Remove ashtray insert | ||
| 8 | Open stowage tray in center console | ||
| 10 | Close beverage holder (5) and lift center console cover (1) until connectors on electrical connections (6) are accessible. | ||
| 11 | Release connectors on electrical connections (6) and disconnect | ||
| 12 | Remove center console cover (1) | ||
| 13 | Install in the reverse order |
