Adjust gap between splinter guard and rear - end window - AR67.20-P-2000-10SXS

The gap (C) between the splinter guard strip (2) and rear-end window (1) must be within a tolerance range of approx. 1 to 3 mm. If the rear-end window (1) is in contact with the splinter guard strip (2), tension is produced which could lead to damage to the rear-end window (1).

The gap (C) between the splinter guard strip (2) and rear-end window (1) can be adjusted by removing or adding spacer washers (3) between the splinter guard strip (2) and gap cover (4). Ensure that only one spacer washer (3) is installed between the splinter guard strip (2) and gap cover (4) per screw (5).

1. Position appropriate splinter guard strip (2), fix in place and measure gap (C) between splinter guard strip (2) and rear-end window (1).

   If the splinter guard strip (2) is already in contact with the rear-end window (1), it is necessary to correct the gap between the splinter guard strip (2) and gap cover (4).

2. Select spacer washers (3) with associated screws (5) according to correction required:
   • Spacer washer (3) 1 mm, screw (5) M6 x12
   • Spacer washer (3) 2 mm, screw (5) M6 x12
   • Spacer washer (3) 3 mm, screw (5) M6 x16, only in combination with 1 mm thick spacer washer (3), which is placed below the screw head of the screw (5)
   • Spacer washer (3) 4 mm, screw (5) M6 x16
   • Spacer washer (3) 4 mm, screw M6 x16

   Use only bolts (5) and spacer washers (3) approved in the "Electronic Part Catalog". Otherwise, the designed protective effect is not ensured.

3. First detach splinter guard strips (2) on the gap cover (4) on the left and right C-pillars and then on the gap cover (4) on the roof.

   Observe specified tightening torques.
