Install and weld in inner C-pillar side wall - AR63.10-P-0700-03SX

  1. Install outer rear wheelhouse (3), inner C-pillar (2) and outer C-pillar (1), fit with SPECIAL TOOL inspection and welding device and fasten with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS clamping pliers.

    IMPORTANT Use spacer (4).

  2. Drill dia. 6.5 mm rivet holes in inner C-pillar (2) and outer rear wheelhouse (3) (areas A and B).
  3. Drill dia. 7 mm pilot hole in inner C-pillar (2) (area C).
  4. Drill rivet holes on inner C-pillar (2) and outer rear wheelhouse (3) with 6.5 mm dia. holes (areas D and F).
  5. Drill 5.0 mm dia. rivet holes in outer rear wheelhouse (3) (area E).

  6. SPECIAL TOOL Remove inspection and welding device and outer C-pillar (1).
  7. Drill dia. 6.5 mm rivet holes in inner C-pillar (2) (areas A1 and L).
  8. Countersink rivet hole on inner C-pillar (2) (area A1 ).

  9. Remove inner C-pillar (2) and outer rear wheelhouse (3).
  10. Deburr rivet holes on both sides
  11. Coat insides of rivet connections not glued with zinc dust paint.
  12. Apply 2-component adhesive in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

    IMPORTANT Refer to manufacturer specifications for adhesive curing and application times.

  13. Install outer rear wheelhouse (3), fit and fasten with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS clamping pliers.
  14. Apply 2-component adhesive in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

    IMPORTANT Refer to manufacturer specifications for adhesive curing and application times.

  15. Install inner C-pillar (2) and fasten with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS manual temporary fastener and COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS clamping pliers.
  16. Inner C-pillar (2) and outer rear wheelhouse (3) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas G, H, I, J and K).

  17. Fasten inner C-pillar (2) with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS pliers (5).

    IMPORTANT Fasten inner C-pillar (2) with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS clamping pliers (5) until the 2-component adhesive has cured.

  18. Rivet inner C-pillar (2) and outer rear wheelhouse (3) with Polygrip flat/round head rivet, 6.4x14 dia. (areas A, F and L).

  19. Rivet inner C-pillar (2) and outer rear wheelhouse (3) with Polygrip countersunk head rivet, 6.4 x14 (area A1 ).
  20. Rivet inner C-pillar (2) and outer rear wheelhouse (3) with Polygrip flat/round head rivet, 6.4x14 dia. (areas B and D).
  21. Rivet inner C-pillar (2) and outer rear wheelhouse (3) with blind rivet, steel/ steel, 4.8x8 (area E).
  22. Inner C-pillar (2) SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD (area C).
  23. Inner C-pillar (2) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (area M).

  24. Coat connection surfaces on inner C-pillar (2) and outer rear wheelhouse (3) in cross-hatched areas with zinc dust paint.
  25. Fasten water drain hose (7) to inner C-pillar (2) with retaining clips (6).

  26. Apply 2-component adhesive in cross-hatched areas to inner C-pillar (2) and outer C-pillar (1).

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  27. Install outer C-pillar (1). fit with SPECIAL TOOL inspection and welding device and fasten with COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS clamping pliers.

    IMPORTANT Use spacer (4).

  28. Outer C-pillar (1) to inner C-pillar (2) and outer rear wheelhouse (3) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas M, N, O, P, Q and R).
  29. Clean welds using COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS round wire brush.
  30. Remove grinding and drill shavings using wet/dry vacuum cleaner.
