Check air conditioning system for leakage - AR83.30-P-1761UV

MODEL 166, 197, 204, 207, 212, 216, 218, 221 System charged 

  Checking    
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.		 AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant. Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been drained. AS83.00-Z-0001-01A

1 Light up the complete engine compartment with a UV lamp, if necessary remove the remains of the existing contrast agent using special cleaner and wash the engine    
2 Check the refrigerant circuit using leak detector additives IMPORTANT Carry out steps as per the operating instructions of the UV leak detection kit.
IMPORTANT Use only the approved MB leak detector additives. If it is proven that a different leak detector additive has been used, we will refuse to reimburse costs inside the warranty and goodwill term. Daimler AG reserves the right to perform reexaminations.

3 Inspect the air conditioning circuit for leaks IMPORTANT If there is a pressure loss and no leak is found in the refrigeration circuit:↓
Remove expansion valve
Model 166		 AR83.30-P-5520GQ

    Model 216, 221.0/1 AR83.30-P-5520SX 
4 Inspect area between expansion valve and firewall for contrast agent using UV IMPORTANT If no traces of contrast agent can be detected:↓
Check evaporator for leaks		 AR83.30-P-5550Q 
5 Charge air conditioning system IMPORTANT Fill air conditioning system with refrigerant R 134a
