Only install brake hoses (51) approved by Mercedes-Benz.

When connecting brake hoses (51) ensure that the brake hose (51) is not assembled twisted (free of twists). An adequate distance from other axle components must be guaranteed in all driving situations.

Model 129, 140:

A locking plate (60) with a bi-hexagon or multi-point profile is attached on the bracket (52). Insert brake hose (51) in the retainer plate (60) so that it does not chafe on vehicle parts on full left and right steering angle and at full compression and rebound travel.

Model 170, 171, 172, 197, 202, 203, 204, 207, 208, 209, 210, 211, 212, 215, 216, 218, 219, 220, 221, 230, 240, 638, 639:

On the brake hose connection piece there are two elevated sections (arrow) which lock the brake hose in the multi-point profile of the bracket.

Ensure that the retaining spring (1) is correctly installed.
