	Remove/install
	Notes on battery	All models	AH54.10-P-0001-01A
	Notes on AGM battery		AH54.10-P-0002-01A
1	Move the right front seat completely to the rear	See Operator's Manual
2	Switch off all electrical consumers	All the electrical consumers must be switched off, otherwise they may be damaged when unclipping and clipping on ground line (6).
3	Switch off ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS [EZS] control unit	On vehicles with Keyless Go, code 889: Press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off. Remove transmitter key from vehicle and store it in a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).
4	Unclip rail cover (1) and detach from the rail to the front (arrow B)	To unclip, using a suitable tool move into the opening of the rail cover (1) (arrow A) and unclip rail cover (1).
5	Lift up the floor covering (2) between the front seat and bottom B-pillar trim (3) upwards (arrow C)	Mounting wedge Observe the correct seating of the floor covering (2) under the bottom B-pillar trim (3) and door sill molding (4).	Fig 2
6	Remove nut (5) to battery negative pole circuit, detach ground line (6) of battery (G1)	Ensure that no jumper start device is connected to vehicle.	*BA54.10-P-1012-01C
7	Install in the reverse order
8	Perform basic programming		AR00.19-P-0200RT
9	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS, read out fault memory and erase if necessary	STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
