Replace brake hoses - AR42.10-P-0013RT

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes. Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

1 Lift/jack up vehicle   AR00.60-P-1000RT
2 Remove wheels   AP40.10-P-4050RT
3 Clean the area around the brake line (1) and brake hose (2) in the area of the separation points NOTES Before opening the brake system the area around the separation point should be cleaned thoroughly. Even the smallest particles of dirt, introduced into the hydraulic components, can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of the SBC system.

4 Unscrew brake line (1) from brake hose (2) NOTES Seal brake line immediately with stop plugs. The reservoir must not run empty otherwise air gets into the system.
IMPORTANT When detaching or tightening the brake line (1) on the brake hose (2), take care not to twist the bracket (3). Therefore counterhold with an open end wrench on the two flats of the brake hose (2).

5 Unbolt brake hose (2) from floating caliper (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA42.10-P-1001-14A

6 Detach brake hose (2) from steering knuckle bracket (5) IMPORTANT When removing from a brake hose (2) on the front axle.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Use new cable ties.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Observe installation position.

7 Detach brake hose (2) from brake hose clip (6)    
8 Install in the reverse order IMPORTANT First tighten union nuts and bolts on the brake hose by hand. Make sure assembly of brake line (1) and brake hose (2) is free of tension, then tighten union nuts and bolts.  
9 Use water to rinse off any escaped brake fluid    
10 Bleed brake system   AR42.10-P-0010RT 
INSPECT Checking     
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

11 Check brake system for leaks AR42.10-P-0100-01RT
DANGER Risk of death  caused by limbs being caugh  or crushed  by rotating parts when performing tests on the brake test stand Never leave the vehicle unattended on the rollers except in an emergency. Ensure that no one is under the vehicle or near rotating parts during testing. In case of emergency, use the EMERGENCY STOP switch to shut down test stand. AS42.00-Z-0001-01A
12 Carry out brake test on the test stand AP42.00-P-4290BA
