2	Remove bracket (3)	MODEL 251 with CODE 494 (US version)
3	Open stowage compartment	MODEL 251 without CODE 494 (US version) The stowage compartment is installed instead of the bracket (3).
4	Remove rubber inserts (4)
5	Remove bolts (5)	Check mechanism of front ashtray for proper function, if necessary loosen threaded connection of center console (1) and tighten center console (1) without tension.
6	Remove rear ashtray	MODEL 251 with CODE 301 (Ashtray package) without CODE 575 (Centre console for 2nd row of seats)

7	Unclip lower cover (13) at top (arrow B)	MODEL 251 with CODE 301 (Ashtray package) with CODE 575 (Centre console for 2nd seat row) MODEL 251 without CODE 301 (Ashtray package) Insert hook (16) on lower cover (13) into mounts (17). Ensure that hook (16) is seated correctly in mounts (17) Catch lug (15) should arrest audibly.

8	Disconnect electrical connector from left 2nd seat row socket (X58/19) and right 2nd seat row socket (X58/20)	MODEL 251 with CODE 301 (Ashtray package) with CODE 575 (Centre console for 2nd seat row) MODEL 251 without CODE 301 (Ashtray package)
9	Remove upper trim panel (14)	MODEL 251 with CODE 301 (Ashtray package) with CODE 575 (Centre console for 2nd seat row) MODEL 251 without CODE 301 (Ashtray package)

10	Detach electrical connector (6) from center console intermediate connector (X296)
11	Detach electrical connector (6 to 9)
12	Unscrew nuts (10)	Ensure that center console (1) is installed without tension.
		Nut, center console to body	*BA68.20-P-1001-01F
13	Unclip clip (12)	Press downwards.
14	Lift center console (1) at rear, pull towards the rear and remove through rear door	Ensure that guides (11) are seated correctly. Clips (12) must latch.
15	Install in the reverse order
