	Remove/install
	Notes on avoiding damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge		AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1	Read out coding of COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) or of radio	Only when installing a new device and if the coding can still be read out with STAR DIAGNOSIS.
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
		STAR DIAGNOSIS system	*WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
2	Unclip center part of instrument panel (2) using long wedge (1), remove and put down on the center console	Place on a soft underlay, as otherwise the center part of instrument panel (2) and/or the center console can be damaged. First, insert the center part of the instrument panel (2) with the two lower notches into the lugs (5), then fold upwards and clip in.

3	Remove screws (4) and slide the locking rails (3) all the way to the bottom (arrows A)
4	Pull out COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) or the radio
5	Unlock and disconnect antenna plugs (6) and connectors (7).	The number and geometry of the antenna plugs (6) and the connectors (7) can vary depending on the type of radio.
6	Remove COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) or the radio
7	Slide carrier (8) to the right (arrows B) and remove forwards (arrow C)	Only when installing a new device.
8	Install in the reverse order
9	Code COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) or the radio	Only when installing a new device.
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
