INSPECT Check     
1 Drive vehicle onto measurement platform and apply parking brake    
2 Carry out preconditions and tests for vehicle level measurement   AR40.00-P-0202RT 
CLEAN Clean     
3 Clean mounting points for measurement sensor (2) on left and right transverse control arms (1) of front axle    
4 Clean left and right rear axle shafts (3)    
HIGH PRESSURE TEST Measure using pointer device     
5 Position measurement sensor (086a) with measurement feet onto three application points for measurement sensor (2) at measuring point 1 (front left)    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 05 19 00 Inclinometer   WS40.00-P-0007B 
    NOTES
Connecting cable on measurement sensor (086a) must face towards vehicle center (arrow).
Otherwise, the measurement will be inaccurate.
 
6 Measure vehicle level using inclinometer (086) at measuring point 1 (front left) and store measured value

    Vehicle level - front axle *BE40.20-P-1001-02N 
7 Repeat operation steps 5 and 6 at measuring point 2 (front right)

8 Position measurement sensor (086a) on left rear axle shaft (3)

    NOTES
Connecting cable on measurement sensor (086a) must face towards vehicle center (arrow).
Otherwise, the measurement will be inaccurate.
 
9 Measure vehicle level on rear axle using inclination of rear axle shaft (3) and store measurement value    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 05 19 00 Inclinometer   WS40.00-P-0007B 
    Ride height rear axle *BE40.20-P-1001-03N 
10 Repeat steps 8 and 9 at right rear axle shaft (3)

    Vehicle level - rear axle *BE40.20-P-1001-03N 
INSPECT Check     
11 Check maximum permissible difference in vehicle level between left and right side of vehicle IMPORTANT The specified test tolerance applies only when checking the vehicle level but not for calibration.  
Permissible difference in vehicle level at rear axle between right and left side of vehicle *BE40.20-P-1002-03N 
Permissible difference in vehicle level between right and left side of vehicle *BE40.20-P-1002-02N 
12 Transfer the measurements from the inclinometer (086) into the wheel alignment system IMPORTANT Only when performing wheel alignment.  
  Adjust     
13 Remove front axle spring If adjustment operations on the front axle are required.

16 Remeasure vehicle level and adjust if necessary Only if the vehicle level was adjusted.
