DISASSEMBLINGASSEMBLING Disassemble/assemble    
1 Remove center console   AR68.20-P-2000GZ 
2 Unclip trim strip (1) NOTES Completely move long wedge to clips (arrows A) to prevent damaging trim strip.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ensure that guide is seated correctly
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Figure
3 Remove bolts (2, 3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA68.20-P-1001-01E 
4 Remove grab handle (4)    
5 Open ashtray (5)    
6 Unclip clip (6) from ashtray (5). IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ashtray should arrest audibly.  
    SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Figure
7 Remove ashtray (5).    
8 Remove bolts (7)    
9 Unlock armrest cover (20) and position vertically    
10 Unclip rear center console cover (10) upward (arrow B) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Observe metal clips (arrows C)
IMPORTANT Pull lower area of rear center console cover up
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Figure
11 Disconnect electrical connectors (8) from socket for 2nd seat row, left (X58/19) and socket for 2nd seat row, right (X58/20)    
12 Disconnect electrical connector (9) from RCP control module (N72/2)    
13 Unscrew bolt (11)    
14 Remove stowage box (13) upward IMPORTANTInstallation:  Observe installation position of guide lugs (12)  
15 Remove bolts (14)    
16 Unlock stowage tray (28) and position vertically    
17 Raise portable CTEL stowage tray (15) (arrow D)    
18 Pull portable CTEL stowage tray (15) toward front (arrow E) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Observe guide lug (19).  
19 Turn portable CTEL stowage tray (15)    
20 Separate electrical connector (16) IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with USA version, code 494.  
21 Unclip connectors (17)    
22 Remove clamp (18)    
23 Unclip armrest cover (20) through openings (21) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Armrest cover should arrest audibly.  
    SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Figure
24 Pull armrest cover (20) upward (arrows F) IMPORTANT Unclip one side, pull upward and hold Unclip other side, pull upward Pull out armrest cover by pulling alternately upward (arrows F).
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ensure that rubber grommet (22) is seated correctly
 
25 Guide cable (24) through armrest cover (20).    
26 Remove cable (24) from bracket (25). IMPORTANTInstallation:  Observe correct installation position.  
27 Unclip clips (23) from bracket (25) SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Figure
28 Pull out bracket (25) toward front (arrow G)    
29 Pull lock (26) out of armrest cover (20) (arrow H) IMPORTANT Lay armrest cover down on suitable subsurface.  
30 Pull out bolts (27) toward rear (arrows I) SPECIAL TOOLInstallation:  Observe installation depth for bolts.  
31 Remove stowage tray (28)    
32 Unclip clips (29, 30, 31) SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Figure
33 Remove air outlet (32) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Observe installation position of air outlet.  
34 Remove bolts (33)    
35 Remove RCP control module (N72/2)    
36 Remove socket internal components (34) from left 2nd seat row socket (X58/19) and right 2nd seat row socket (X58/20) SPECIAL TOOL Pliers Fig 15
37 Unclip socket for 2nd seat row, left (X58/19) and socket for 2nd seat row, right (X58/20) from clips (35). SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Figure
38 Assemble in the reverse order
