REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
1 Activate service mode in Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand (emergency call system) (TELE AID) IMPORTANT Only on model 463.243/244/245/250/309/ 322/323/332/333 with code (ET2) Tele-Aid - car telephone emergency call system, 463.247/248/254/270 up to 1.4.07 with code (ET2) Tele-Aid - car telephone emergency call system AR82.95-P-0005-03GR

DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
2 Disconnect battery ground line   AR54.10-P-0003G

3 Remove overhead control panel control unit (N70)   AR82.20-P-1000GM 
4 Disconnect roof antenna connector (X1/34) of telephone and fax antenna (A2/22)    
5 Extract the clip (2)    
6 Remove protective sleeve (3) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Press on protective sleeve (3)
MPECIAL TOOL with assembly tool.

7 Release telephone and fax antenna (A2/22) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Press in telephone and fax antenna (A2/22) from below until it securely latches into the outer skin of the roof.

8 Remove telephone and fax antenna (A2/22) IMPORTANT Remove in the direction of the vehicle interior.  
9 Install in the reverse order    
10 Deactivate service mode in Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand IMPORTANT Only on model 463.243/244/245/250/309/ 322/323/332/333 with code (ET2) Tele-Aid - car telephone emergency call system, 463.247/248/254/270 up to 1.4.07 with code (ET2) Tele-Aid - car telephone emergency call system AR82.95-P-0005-03GR

11 Read out fault memory and erase IMPORTANT After work is complete, faults stored in the fault memory must be processed and erased. The stored faults may be caused by removed cables during installation or test operations as well as by simulation.  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
12 Carry out function check
