REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Activate service mode in Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand (emergency call system) (TELE AID) Only on model 463.243/245, 463.248 up to 1.4.07 with code (ET2) TELE AID car telephone emergency call system AR82.95-P-0005-03GR
IMPORTANT Notes regarding the TELE AID emergency call system   AH82.95-P-0001-01GA
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury  caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of burn  injuries caused by short circuit. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards.
Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground.
Only pour liquid battery electrolyte (diluted sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

2 Disconnect ground line of battery (G1) Except model 463.236/248 with code (979) Special protection version AR54.10-P-0003G

3 Remove door liner (3) from rear door Except model 463.236/248 with code (979) Special protection version AR72.12-P-1010GN 
    Model 463.236/248 with code (979) Special protection version, with code (ZS6) Special protection version FB6, with code (ZS7) Special protection version FB7 AR72.12-P-1010PM
4 Disconnect electrical connectors from left rear door control unit (N69/3) or right rear door control unit (N69/4)    
5 Press clips (1) together and remove left rear door control unit (N69/3) or right rear door control unit (N69/4) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Fasten lines on left rear door control unit (N69/3) or right rear door control unit (N69/4) with one cable tie. Do not cross lines, otherwise this could lead to difficulties when installing door lining (3)  
6 Install in the reverse order    
7 Deactivate service mode in Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand IMPORTANT Only on model 463.243/245, 463.248 up to 1.4.07 with code (ET2) TELE AID car telephone emergency call system AR82.95-P-0005-03GR

8 Read out fault memory and erase IMPORTANT After work is complete, faults stored in the fault memory must be processed and erased. The stored faults may be caused by removed cables during installation or test operations as well as by simulation.  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
9 Perform basic programming   AR00.19-P-0200P
