	Remove/install
	Risk of explosion  caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury  caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of burn  injuries caused by short circuit. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices	No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards. Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground. Only fill liquid battery electrolyte (diluted sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

3	Remove left additional turn signal lamp (E22/1) or right additional turn signal lamp (E22/2)
4	Disconnect electrical connector from additional turn signal lamp (1)
5.1	Remove cover beneath dashboard (left)	When removing left front door.	AR68.10-P-1500GM
5.2	Remove cover below dashboard (right)	When removing right front door.	AR68.10-P-1520GM
6	Remove piece of carpeting (2) from A-pillar
7	Carefully remove foil	Installation:  Check foil, replace if necessary, otherwise moisture can penetrate into the interior compartment.
8	Disconnect driver door separation point (X35/41) or passenger door separation point (X35/42)	In footwell on A-pillar.
9	Remove electrical connectors and contacts from wiring harness on front door on potential compensation (3)	In footwell on A-pillar.	AR54.18-P-0101-01GR
10	Remove ground cable from left additional turn signal lamp (E22/1) or right additional turn signal lamp (E22/2)	In footwell on A-pillar.
11	Pull rubber grommet (4) out of A-pillar and front door	Installation:  Ensure that rubber grommet (4) is seated correctly.
12	Pull front door wiring harness out of A-pillar	Installation:  Ensure that wiring harness is routed correctly.
13	Remove screws from bottom door hinge (5)	Support front door to prevent damaging front door or A-pillar.
14	Remove screws from upper door hinge (6)	Support front door with aid of second person, otherwise door can fall down.
15	Remove front door
16	Install in the reverse order

19	Read out fault memory and erase	After work is complete, faults stored in the fault memory must be processed and erased. The stored faults may be caused by removed cables during installation or test operations as well as by simulation.
