	Opening, closing
1	Unlock engine hood	Pull release lever (1) on left below dashboard. The engine hood opens to stop of retaining hook (2).
2	Open engine hood	Slightly lift engine hood, actuate safety hook (2) and open engine hood. Windshield wiper arm should not be folded toward front.
3	Unhook gasfilled spring strut (4)	Except model 461.331 Press retaining clip (3) back on gasfilled spring strut (4) with screwdriver and thereby press gasfilled spring strut (4) off of ball head Thereby hold engine hood.
4	Move engine hood to upright position	Install suitable coverings to prevent damaging the engine hood or the body.
5	Reinstall in opposite order
