Operating instructions

Via the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and via the right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) the various menu levels can be displayed in the multifunction display (A1p13) and various system functions activated, disabled or settings changed.

Calling up display of different systems

By operating the system selection button (S110s3) the multifunction display is switched over to the basic display of the next system or to the "Settings" function.

If all the systems have been run through, one again reaches the basic display of the base function and the sequence starts again from the beginning (ring memory).

Scrolling within a system

In addition to the main screen, most systems also feature other screens. The scroll forward/back button (S110s1) is used to scroll within a system.

Each time the scroll forward/back button is pressed the display jumps on accordingly.

You can jump to another system from any screen by pressing the system selection button. The basic display of this system then appears.

Individual settings (second level)

Procedure:

  1. Press the system selection button until the "settings" function appears in the multifunction display.
  2. Press the scroll forward/back button until the display of the setting to be changed appears in the multifunction display.
  3. Press the button + and -, setting of specific functions and volume control (S111s1) towards + or - until the arrow in the display is on the desired value.

All individual settings are also possible while driving except for the driving lights setting.

Overview of available menus (equipment-dependent):

In the settings menu there are several other submenus in which the functions can be adjusted, activated and disabled. These are:

Reset to manufacturer default settings

The individual settings can be reset path-specific or overall to the manufacturer default settings with the instrument illumination variable resistor (A1r1).

Path-specific reset:

The settings which have been changed individually can be reset separately to the manufacturer default setting. All subsettings are also reset in the process.

Perform reset process:

To reset the settings the instrument illumination variable resistor must be pressed for longer than t = 3 s. The request "Set to manufacturer default setting?" appears in the multifunction display.

After this instrument illumination variable resistor must be pressed again, only then are the settings reset to the manufacturer default setting.

The successful reset is displayed by an acknowledgment message in the multifunction display. In the event of a fault an incomplete reset is displayed in the multifunction display.

If the instrument illumination variable resistor is not operated for t = 10 s, the reset operation is terminated automatically and the display jumps back to the previous menu display.

Total reset:

If the reset is called up in the start display of the "Settings" menu, the values in all submenus are reset.
