1. Open glove box lid and carefully unclip cover (14) on glove box (15) by hand and remove.
2. Make a mark on rear panel of glove box (15) as illustrated and drill hole with a diameter of 20 mm.

   Cordless drill/driver gotis://G_58.0_01.1 

   Dimensions: 

   1. = 25 mm
   2. = 15 mm

3. Lead iPod wiring harness (9) to the outside through previously drilled hole and route in front passenger footwell.
4. Plug hole with grommet (13) on iPod wiring harness (9).
5. Clip cover (14) into glove box (15).

6. Route iPod interface wiring harness (2) with blue 18-pin coupling and white 2-pin connector, starting from installation opening of COMAND operating, display and controller unit, along existing wiring harnesses into front passenger footwell and fix it there using a cable tie (16).
7. Remove fiber optic cable coupling (17) from black, 40-pin coupling (3) and install at same position in black 40-pin coupling (5).

   Only if fiber optic cable coupling (17) is installed.

8. Assemble black 40-pin coupling (3) and black 40-pin connector (4), lock in place, and stow below in installation opening of COMAND operating, display and controller unit.
9. Set down cover below instrument panel on right together with attached iPod interface (1) in front passenger footwell.
10. Connect black iPod wiring harness coupling (10) to iPod interface (1).
11. Connect blue 18-pin coupling (7) to iPod interface (1) and lock in place.
12. Assemble white 2-pin connector (8) on iPod interface wiring harness (2) and white 2-pin coupling (12) on iPod wiring harness (9) and fix in place on iPod interface (1) using felt tape (18).
13. Fix iPod wiring harness (9) in place on air duct (19) using felt tape (18).
