MODEL 211.0 /2 /6 (except 211.08 /09 /28 /29)

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
NOTES When working on the front-end assembly, be careful not to scratch, mark or notch the surfaces of aluminum parts. Otherwise the service life of the parts will be affected    
IMPORTANTInstallation  Tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components only when vehicle is in the ready-to-drive condition.    
1 Empty front air springs using STAR DIAGNOSIS Vehicles with AIRmatic (semi-active air suspension), code 489

2.1 Remove trim panels of the cylinder head cover and of the charge air distribution pipe Engines 646, 647 AR01.20-P-5014-02A

2.2 Remove air filter housing with air ducts Engine 112, 113.967: Lift air filter housing vertically off rubber retainers on cylinder head covers.

    IMPORTANTInstallation:  Rub the rubber retainers on the cylinder head covers and the sealing ring of the hot film mass air flow sensor in the air filter housing with liquid lubricant.

3 Attach engine support frame   AR33.10-P-0100-01T
4.1 Remove bottom section of soundproofing Vehicles with diesel engines AR94.30-P-5300T
4.2 Remove engine compartment paneling Vehicles with gasoline engines AR61.20-P-1105T
5 Unscrew bolt (14) of left and right front engine mount from front axle carrier (6). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engines 628, 629, 642, 646, 647, 648 *BA22.10-P-1001-01D 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 271, 272 *BA22.10-P-1006-01O 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 273 *BA22.10-P-1002-03A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 156 *BA22.10-P-1006-01S 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 112, 113 *BA22.10-P-1001-01L 
6 Raise engine NOTES On engines 112 and 113 ensure that the hot film mass air flow sensor is not against the body. Do not over-tension lines and hoses. These components can become damaged.  
7 Remove nuts (23b) and remove link rods (23) from stabilizer bar (10). INSPECT Check rubber mounts of link rods for damage; fit new link rods if necessary.

8 Prop front axle carrier (6) with transmission jack and transmission plate   AR33.10-P-0100-03T
9 Remove bolts (8a, 8b) from front axle carrier (6) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA33.10-P-1005-01A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA33.10-P-1004-01A 
10 Lower front axle carrier (6) IMPORTANT Do not stretch the steering coupling (12).  
11 Remove bolts (21e) and remove retaining bracket (21b) IMPORTANTInstallation:  The retaining brackets on the torsion bar (10) must  be replaced.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION		 *BA32.20-P-1007-02B 
12 Take off torsion bar (10)    
13 Install in the reverse order    
14 Perform chassis alignment   AR40.20-P-0200T
