Remove/install rear spring - AR32.20-P-0230T

MODEL 211.08 /09 except CODE (489) Airmatic (semi-active air suspension) 

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1 Remove rear wheel    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Remove and install wheels   AP40.10-P-4050Z
2 Remove spring control arm cover    
3 Detach shock absorber from spring control arm IMPORTANT Push together shock absorber and position at side of spring control arm.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION
*BA32.25-P-1003-03A 
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by pinching or crushing  when working on springs or spring bodies that are under load Use only approved tensioning devices; shield off hazard area if necessary.
Inspect special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection).
Wear protective gloves.

4 Clamping rear spring IMPORTANT Mark the position of tensioning plates relative to rear spring using oil chalk. AR32.20-P-0200-06T 
IMPORTANT Springs; general background information.   AH32.20-P-9404-01A 
    IMPORTANTInstallation:  Observe oil chalk markings.  
5 Install in the reverse order IMPORTANTInstallation:  Only tighten bolts and nuts of the chassis components in the curb condition.  
6 Check headlamp setting and correct if necessary    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Check and correct headlamp adjustment   AP82.10-P-8260T
