MODEL 211 with CODE (489a) Airmatic (semi-active air suspension)

Fig 1: Identifying AIRmatic Central Reservoir And Compressor Unit
G04984564

In normal operation, the AIRmatic works with a pressure of between 6 and 10 bar depending on the load.

An electric compressor is used to supply the pressure. This is installed in the AIRmatic compressor unit (A9/1).

In addition the system features a central reservoir (42) in which the compressed air is stored. The reservoir pressure is between 13 and 16 bar (at sea level).

The system is supplied with pressure either via the central reservoir, or via the air compressor.
