MODIFICATION NOTES

5.7.06

"Disconnect/connect battery ground line" removed

	Remove/install
1	Open ashtray (2) and unclip the center console cover (1) in the direction of the arrow out of the center console
2	Release shift lever knob arresting mechanism (3) counterclockwise
3	Detach shift lever knob with shift lever sleeve (4) from gearshift lever (5)
4.1	Separate electrical connectors (6)	On vehicles with code (489a) Airmatic (semi-active air suspension), (220a) Parktronic system (PTS), (889) Keyless Go, (423a) Automatic 5-speed transmission (NAG), (219a) Distronic (DTR), (228) Stationary heater Number of electrical connectors (6) according to equipment.
5	Remove center console cover (1) together with the shift lever knob with shift lever sleeve (4)
6	Press shift lever knob with shift lever sleeve (4) out of the center console cover (1)
7	Install in the reverse order
