Removing and installing SAM control unit, passenger side - AR54.21-P-1257TX

MODIFICATION NOTES

12.4.05 Disconnect ground cable of battery deleted Step 3  
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
NOTES Notes on avoiding damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1.1 Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and stage basic data from the passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) in STAR DIAGNOSIS Only when installing new passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Transfer staged basic data to the new passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11).
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04TX
STAR DIAGNOSIS, diagnosis system *WH58.30-Z-1048-13A 
2 Move front passenger's seat towards the rear    
3 Fold back floor covering (1) in passenger footwell    
4 Remove damping material (2) upwards off the footrest (3)    
5 Unscrew nuts (4)    
6 Remove footrest (3) and put down in front passenger footwell    
7 Separate the electrical connectors (5) IMPORTANT The electrical connector (5) leading circuit 30 must be disconnected first and contacted last.  
8 Unscrew screws (6) and remove the passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11)    
9 Install in the reverse order
