Remove/install steering angle sensor - AR46.10-P-0300Q

MODEL 209 up to 31.5.04, 203 as of 1.7.02 up to 23.4.04

MODIFICATION NOTES

6.8.02 Remove/install clock spring contact, added Step 2 AR46.10-P-0200Q 
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury.  Injuries may result when performing testing or repair work on airbag or emergency tensioning retractor units. Store airbag units with deployment side facing up; do not expose to temperatures greater than 100 °C. When working on these units, disconnect the power supply. AS91.00-Z-0001-01A

1 Remove steering wheel IMPORTANT Front wheels in straight-ahead position. AR46.10-P-0100P 
2 Take out pods above the switches    
3 Remove clock spring contact (A45) NOTES Secure clock spring contact (A45) with locking pin (2) to prevent it from twisting in order to avoid damage. AR46.10-P-0200Q 
4 Remove steering angle sensor (N49) from the steering column module    
INSPECT Check     
5 Check basic position of steering angle sensor (N49) IMPORTANTInstallation:  A yellow+ figure must be visible in the inspection window (1).
IMPORTANT If the basic position of the steering angle sensor (N49) to the clock spring contact (A45) is changed or a black figure is to be seen in the inspection window (1), the basic position is to be reproduced:
 
    Set the center position of the clock spring contact (A45) AR46.10-P-0200-01Q 
6 Install in the reverse order    
7 Perform function check
