	Remove/install
1.1	Transfer basic data from the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) to STAR DIAGNOSIS	When replacing the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3). Installation: Transfer temporarily stored basic data to the new COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3).
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
		STAR DIAGNOSIS system	*WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
2	Remove cover on center console		AR68.20-P-2350Q
3	Remove bolts (1)
4	Remove COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3)
5	Disconnect fiber optic cable connector	Do not kink or stretch the D2B fiber optic cable.
6	Cover fiber optic cable		AR82.95-P-0005-01A
	Notes on fiber optic cable	Model 129, 163, 168, 170, 202, 203, 208, 209, 210, 215, 220, 230, 414, 463.243/244/245 /246/247/248/249/250/254/309/322/323/332/333	AH82.70-P-0001-02A
7	Unplug connectors	Unplug all couplings on the back of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3)
8	Install in the reverse order
