Press off joint hub
- Press joint hub (37d) off rear axle shaft using
drift.
- Check joint hub (37d) and rear axle shaft (37a) for damage on spline edges.
If on the splined profile of the joint hub (arrow) not more than 3 teeth per caulking, up to a maximum length of 6 mm, have broken out, the joint hub (37d) can continue to be used.

Press on joint hub
- Clamp rear axle shaft into vise.
Use protective jaws.
- Using a suitable tool press on joint hub (37d) until dimension (b) is reached.
Dimension (b) = 4.2 mm

Caulk joint hub
- Clamp rear axle shaft in the vise so the joint hub (37d) lies on the jaws.
It must still be possible to turn the ball retainer.
- Apply the new caulkings to be applied (arrows) with caulker centrally between the existing caulkings.

In order to prevent damage (e.g. breaking away) of the ball raceways, the caulkings (arrow) must be made as close as possible to the splined profile.
