Detection of pressure loss, function - GF40.15-P-2005SX

MODEL 216.3, 221.0 /1 except CODE (494) USA version up to Model Year 8

MODEL 221.0 /1 with CODE (477) Tire pressure loss warning up to Model Year 8

Function

The ESP control unit (N47-5) compares the 4 wheel speeds depending on the tire inflation pressure. A learning phase follows reactivation. In this phase in 6 different vehicle speed intervals the relative rolling circumferences of the tires are taught in. The tire pressure loss warning (RDW) system is not active in this learning process.

The learning phase of the individual intervals takes about 10 minutes. As of this point in time the respective following tires are compared with each other:

Warning message shown on model 221 up to 31.8.06
